Abstract
The Millennium Development Goals are a set of
goals and targets that are measurable and time-limited
in order to alleviate poverty and hunger, and combat
diseases, environmental degradation and discrimination
against women. The world is moving towards the MDGs;
however progress is slow and uneven, due to a number
of challenges that hinders the achievement of the goals.
The MDGs focus mainly on human capital as a main
engine of growth, and one of the most important factors
affecting labor productivity and the economy as a whole
