Abstract

Semantic web is one of the research topics in the last decades. Web mining and semantic web combined to convert current web pages to semantic web. A lot of work has been done on semantic web. Trends know supports converting current web to semantic one. Converting current web pages to semantic web is not an easy task, as there is no structured form of current web. Semantic web mining is one of the important topics for automatic conversion of current web to semantic web. Semantic web has several advantages over the current web. It speeds up the search process over the internet. It is the time for converting the entire web to semantic web. This study proposed a system for automatic conversion from syntactic web pages (traditional web pages) into semantic web. Web mining used with semantic web for helping in extracting important data and then building the new form of web which is semantic web. This thesis contains six chapters in addition to references. First chapter presents
introduction for the thesis. Objectives, problem statement and thesis organization are discussed. Chapter two presents introduction to semantic web. It introduces history about the web. Also, it discusses semantic web vision and languages for the semantic web. Semantic web mining vision is also discussed. The third chapter presents framework methodology of the research work. Chapter four presents the results of the proposed architecture. Chapter five contains evaluation of Hakia search engine and Google search engine for clarifying the importance of semantic web in searching process. Finally the sixth chapter presents conclusion and future work of the research work.
