Problem of the study: the problem of the present study stated in the weak and deficiently performance of kindergarten teachers in the skills of speaking and listening during the language communication with the children. Therefore the present study attempted to prepare a program for developing these skills for the students at Child Education department.
Objectives of the study: the present study aimed at reaching some language communication skills for students teachers at the Faculty of Education of Assiut University, and set a suggested program to develop some language communication skills (listening and speaking) for students at Child Education department, Faculty of Education – Assiut University and measure the effectiveness of the suggested program in developing these skills for the students.
Study Tools: List of some language communication skills (listening and speaking) necessary for the students of child education department, an observation sheet to assess the professional aspect of the two skills (listening and speaking) for the students at Child education department, an achievement test for the fourth year students at Child Education department to assess the cognitive aspect of some language communication skills (listening and speaking ), which was chosen in light of the importance of these skills to the students teachers, and a suggested program to develop these skills for students.
The study sample consisted of (25) female students from the the fourth year at Child Education department, Faculty of Education - Assiut University for the academic year 2010 / 2011.
The results of the study:
1 –There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students teachers in the pre-post testing of the observation sheet favoring the post-testing.
2 - There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students teachers in the pre-post testing of the achievement test favoring the post-testing.
3 - There is an effectiveness of the suggested program in developing some of language communication skills (Listening and speaking)
for the students teachers of the research sample.
