Abstract maurosis fugax is the most common ocular symptom in patients who had ocular ischemic diseases (47.44%) (Jiang et al., 2010). Etiology and pathophysiology of amaurosis fugax is very complex. In classification we differentiate four types: angiospasm, retinal and cortical visual center hypoperfusion, embolic-thrombosis causes and migraine as idiopathic (Vojnikovic et al., 2010). AION comprises arteritic AION (A-AION: due to giant cell arteritis) and non-arteritic AION (NA-AION: due to other causes). PION consists of arteritic PION (A-PION: due to giant cell arteritis), non-arteritic PION (NA-PION: due to other causes), and surgical PION (a complication of several systemic surgical procedures (Hayreh, 2011). Cortical blindness caused by bilateral lesions of the primary visual cortex in the occipital lobes (Georgios et al., 2010). Terson’s syndrome is intraocular hemorrhage subsequent to subarachnoid hemorrhage (Hassan et al., 2011). |
