Abstract The recent advent of newer designs in supralaryngeal airways (SLAs) provides a possible alternative technique to the traditional use of tracheal tubes. They offered several advantages in terms of anatomic position, invasiveness, and security. Also the fact that they may be inserted easily using a blind technique. They are now widely used for surgery requiring general anesthesia. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the use of LMAc and I-Gel in patients undergoing elective procedures under general anesthesia,in terms of ease of insertion, efficacy of seal, hemodynamic changes, arterial oxygen saturation and incidence of complications. |
