Abstract
The mineralogical analysis of sediments samples from the Amorphous Silica tic Zone of the Atlantis 11 Deep has
shown that they are almost entirely made of iron oxides and ox hydroxides, sulphates, silicates, and carbonates. The iron oxides and ox hydroxides were dominant, and were represented by goethite, magnetite, and hematite.
