Abstract Let X be a nonnegative random variable representing the failure time of an individual from a homogeneous population. The probability distribution of X can be specified in many ways, some of which are particularly useful in survival applications: the function (PDF), the cumulative distribution function (CDF), the survival function (SF), and hazard rate function (HRF). Interrelations among these representations are given below for continuous distributions. |
