Abstract The development of the integrated mite management since year 1973 and has focused on the use of pesticide resistant strains of the predatory mite (A. gossypii and P. persimilis) in combination with the use of lower rates of selective acaricides. This program reduces the acaricides costs and provides spider mite control which is as good as on better than spider mite control with acaricides alone. One of the most important steps to establish the resistant strains of the predatory mite is to pick the most safe pesticides or specific acaricides against this mite to be employed as selective agents. The host suitability is of important value for the relation between the two types of mites and is influenced by the plant characteristics. |
