Abstract
4. Investigations: it carried out in EDs to the studied patients according to
their conditions which included;
• Laboratory investigations: included; Serum electrolytes (sodium&
potassium), complete blood count, arterial blood gases, liver function
test and kidney function test which done according to patient
condition.
• Electrocardiography (ECG): ECG recorded to patients according to
their conditions.
• Radiological investigations: Radiographic investigations that done
included; plain chest x-ray (postero-anterior view), (CT) brain and
pe lvi-abdominal ultrasound. Each investigation done according to
patients needs.
5. Treatment: included; supportive measures, decontamination procedure,
antidotal therapy and symptomatic treatment.
6. Outcome of patients: recorded whether remained under-observation in
ED and discharged, admitted to inpatients and recovered or to ICU and
recovered or died and discharged upon request or referred.
7. Severity of poisoning: were classified into none, minor, moderate, severe
and fatal category based on Poisoning Severity Score (PSS).
