Abstract
Liver fibrosis is a wound healing process elicited by various toxic injuries, as well as being ’the final common pathway of almost all chronic liver diseases. ’The accurate assessment of the severity of liver fibrosis is of paramount importance in guiding treatment decisions,determining response to treatment, predicting prognosis and the potential risk for complications in patients with chronic liver disease.Methods for monitoring liver fibrosis include liver biopsy followed by histologic examination, imaging techniques and biomarkers, of liver fibrosis.
