Abstract the aim of the present work is to perform a detailed comparison of numerical results from both two numerical methods(RANS and DNS) and experimental data for seven different velocity ratios of the two streams and rang of reynolds number with constant density of the two air streams to gain a deeper understanding of the effect of velocity ratios on the jet development. the numerical results are compared with the existing experimental data. the predicted result show that mixing process in confined jets depends strongly not only on the velocity ratio, but also on the interaction between the boundary layer, mixing layer and the main flow, particularly when the area ratio is small. |
