Abstract Two field experiments were carried out in the experimental farm of Rice Research and Training Center (RRTC), Sakha- Kafr-El Sheikh, Egypt during two summer seasons 2009 and 20 I o. The study aimed to investigate effects of allelopathic rice genotypes Gz 6522, Gz 5702, Gz 7764, Gz 8565, Gz 7955 and nonallelopathic variety Sakha 103), transplanting spaces (15 x 20, 20 x 20 and 25 x 20 cm.) and weed control (penoxsulam 24% se. at recommended and half doses and weedy check) on weeds, rice vegetative growth, yield, its attributes and grain quality. A strip split plot design with three replicates was used in the two experiments. Rice horizontal plots, transplanting spaces were allocated in vertical piots, then weed control treatments assigned in sub plots during both seasons. |
