Abstract Undoped and doped polypyrrole (PPy) with series of dopants have been chemically synthesized by oxidative polymerization method. Structural, crystallinity, morphological and particle size of PPy samples were investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and particle size analyzer techniques, respectively. from (XRD) analysis it was found that crystallinity was enhanced with the decreasing of the dopant size and that the average chain separation decreases. The thermal stability of polypyrrole samples has been studied by thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in nitrogen atmosphere. It was found that the doping of PPy with dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid (DB SA) improved the thermal stability of PPy. |
