Abstract The present study was planned to clarify the effect of experimental infection of aflatoxin B1 on immune response of rabbit, Thirty six - two month old rabbits were used and divided into four equal groups. The first group was given normal feed (free from mycotoxins and without any treatment) and kept as control group. The second group; contaminated ration with aflatoxin 30µg/kg ration for 28 days. Third group was given aflatoxin mixed with antimycotoxin (Mycofix, 1kg/ton), fourth group; Mycofix (1kg/ton) only. Immunosuppression was detected through measurement of humoral immune response (HA titers to sheep RBcs and IH titers to LPS of Pasteurella multocida) and cell mediated immune (CMI) response through detection of cutaneous basophil hypersensitivity by skin test reaction to BCG and phytoheamagglutinin M, phagocytic index in isolated peritoneal exudate adherent cells, total and differential leukocytic count, humoral immune response measured by some serum parameters (total protein, albumin, globulin and globulin fractionation). |
