Abstract
This report is concerned with the operation and performance of the combined power plants. It introduces all parts of damanhour combined power plant. Chapter (1) introduces the main components of the plant (gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator, steam turbine). Chapter (2) discusses the specifications of these components, theory of operation and the schematics for these components and their cycles. Chapter (3) explains the process of water treatment using the ion exchange method and the chemical treatment in HRSG. Chapter (4) gets the thermal efficiency for the gas turbine unit and the plant over all and calculates the fuel consumption for the gas cycle only and after using the combined units, also shows the HRSG calculation and their start up. Chapter (5) represents the factors affecting the improvement of the gas cycle efficiency and the power plant also it includes several types of curves of gas cycle efficiency.
