Abstract , The aim of present study is to apply statistical analysis techniques (first order statistics, correlation coefficient, factor, Fourier, multiple regression) on well logging data ”GR-, SP-, DT-, LLD-, LLS-, Pb -, <DN-, Pc -, CAL-, SGR-, CGR-, THO-, POT-, and URA-logs” in order to get an idea about subsurface geology, probable locations of promising source rock reservoirs and hydrocarbon traps. Also, statistical analysis techniques are used to construct mathematical models expressing the interrelationshipsof the different well logging data parameters. Well logging data of four wells (Twenan-1 0 1, Hrit -I , AlAkram-1,and Al Hureia-1) located in North Palmyra area, Syria Arab Republic, between Latitudes 35°00’00” & 35°15’00” N, and the Longitudes38°18’00” & 38°38’00” E, were used to conduct this study. Theobtainedresults show the following: a- There is a main synclinal feature striking the area along a North West-SouthEast direction. b-The old tributaries of AI-Furat basin are present and may be drownedin the East direction. c- Basement rocks of the basin-like structure reflects its imprints on thesedimentationthat having the same direction of Al-Furat river. d- Probable two fault planes, having the same direction of the strike ofthesyncline, may formulate the basinal structure. e-The thickness of sedimentary beds increases in North-Westem directionwhich indicate the direction of sea regression. |
