Abstract The present thesis entitled ”studies on some complexes tainingazogroup”comprises three chapters. lThefirst one is concerned with the literature survey on the istry of azo compounds. Some structural chemistry of some plexesaregiven. The second chapter is related to the experimental part. lheslsof (o-carboxy phenylazo) moiety of barbituric acid, arbituric acid, thiouracil, citrazinic acid and disodium motropatebeside their transition metal (Co, Ni, and Cu) plexesare given. The elemental analysis of the organic pounds and their complexes are reported. Different dardizedinstruments (NMR, UV-VIS, IR,ESR, pfl and DSC) are . Thepreparation of the solutions (Ligands and buffers) are ained. The results and their discussions are given in the third ter. The existance of azo and hydrazo tautomers and the gthof the intramolecular hydrogen bond are discussed. The MR measurementsproved that all of the chelating agents are ominating mainly in the keto form except disodium motropatepresents in enol form. The effect of prl on the tronlc absorption spectra of the ligands assigned the main .tronictransitions (n~1t* and 1t~1t*) with the elucidation of the omenaof tautomerism. The mode of ionization explained from pl\ valuesviews. All the compounds gave two pK’s except that vedfromthe thiouracil moiety. |
