Abstract The present results were conducted on two hunderds (200) left and right she-camel’s ovaries (from one hunderds animals), collected from both of Cairo(El-Basattein) and SHIBIN EL-QANATER abattoirs during the different seasons of the year . The age of which was ranged from (4-12) years old, while the previous history was unkown. The collected ovaries were examined morphologically for the recording of the normal physiological structures, shape, dimensions and weight of ovaries in addition to its size. Histologically for studying the nomlal physiological changes during the different seasons of the year. The macroscopic appearance revealed the flattened-shape of the ovaries, wbile their dimensions were ranged in means of 3.53 xl .83 xl .09 cms. as length , width and thickness respectively, while the size was ranged in the mean of (2.98 پ} 0.11)cm3. and their weights were with a mean of (7.93 + 0.25)gm. These macroscopic findings revealed a significant increase in the weight during winter and spring(12.2lپ}O 32)gm.and(6.85}0.35)gm.resPeti’elY, more than that during autumn and summer (6.61 + 0.34)gm. and (3.73 + 0.07 )gm.respectively. Also revealed a significant increase in the length of the ovaries during spring and winter as (4.07 پ} 0.11)cm. and (3.98پ} 0.07)cm. than that during summer and autumn (3.16 پ} 0.07)cm. and (2.76 پ} 0.08)cm. respectively. While a similar significant increase was recorded in the width during the same seasons (spring and winter) as (2.22 پ} 0.03)cm. and (2.18 پ} 0.02)cm.than that during autumn and summer (1.74 پ} 0.11)cm. and (1.54} 0 .08)cm.respectively In which recording a significant increase in the size of she-camePs ovaries during the seasons of winter and spring as (4.42 پ} 0.14)cm3. and (4.19 پ} 0.26)cm3. than that during autumn and summer as (4.08 پ} 0.3 1)cm3. And (3.87 پ} 0.25)cm3. respectively. where was a non-significant variation in the thickness of she-camel,s ovaries during different seasons. Histological examinations were revealed that the ovary of she-camels covered by an epithelial layer all-over the whole surface of the surface of the ovary , the structure of the ovary consists of easily detected tow layers ,an outer thin cortex (Zona parenchymatosa) and an inner thick medulla (Zona vasculosa). Following the covering epithelium there is the tunica albuginea, consisted of collagenic fibers run in different directions After that there is the cortical stroma which is more cilular ,less fibrous and within which scattered the ovarian follicles in different stages of development and regression, also present an atretic follicles. Then , presents the medulla which more fibrous ,less cellular and within which passing the ovarian vessels , nerve and lymphatics. |
