Abstract In the present work we prepared some monomeric thiol surfactants namely (6-(3-amino phenoxy) hexane-1 -thiol, 8-(3-amino phenoxy) octane-1-thiol, 10-(3-amino phenoxy) decane-1 -thiol, and their analog polymers with nano composite gold and clay as catalyst of bulk polymerization reaction of methyl meth acrylatet. The chemical structure of the monomeric surfactants was confirmed using FTIR and’HNMR spectroscopic analysis. The chemical structure of the polymeric surfactants were confirmed using Elemental analysis, FTIR, TGA, DSC and XRD analysis. Gold nanoparticles colloidal solution was prepared. The self assembling of these synthesized surfactants on gold nanoparticles was investigated. The self-assembling of these surfactants on gold nanoparticles was characterized using different techniques such as UV spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Electron Diffraction (ED) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The effect of the selfassembling of these surfactants on the stabilization of the gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was studied using TEM images. The growth of the gold nanoparticles was investigated with respect to the increase in the alky I chain of the synthesized thiol surfactants. The meet of gold nanoparticles as catalyst, and comparison between different nano compound and their activity. The results show that the gold nanoparticles have the ability to effect n the behavior and mechanism of the bulk polymerization of methyl meth acraylate (MMA). Also, we made different analysis for the produced (PMMA) such as ’HNMR analysis for MMA are used to confirm the ~roduced Stereoregularity of PMMA and GPC analysis are used for determination of weight average and number average molecular weight and polydispersity of the obtained bulk polymerized of (MMA). In the presence if the prepared nano gold/ nano clayl / nano polymer composite sample ich are used for the bulk polymerization of (MMA) as a catalyst and onic initiator. |
