Abstract

Four broiler houses in Sharkia Governorate were investigated seasonally over a period of one year to study the effect of temperature and floor area space ( Stocking density ), as well as the effect of light intensity and its duration , light duration and temperature and stocking density ( Experimentation ) on broiler performance.
I - Investigation of broiler houses revealed that
(1)At the 6th week of age , average body weight were 1488.5 , 1335 , 1446 and 1396 gm in Spring , Summer , Autumn and Winter respectively.
(2)There was a reverse trend between body weight gain and relative growth rate percent in Spring , Summer and Winter but these were variable in Autumn.
(3)Food conversion and food efficiency were variable in different weeks during different seasons.
(4)Average mortality rate were (0.55 + 0.13) in Spring , (0.66 + 0.18 ) in Summer , (0.38 + 0.07) in Autumn and (1.47 + 0.3) in Winter.
(5)Average behavioral disorder percent were in Spring (0.26 + 0.07) , in Summer (0.29 + 0.07) , in Autumn (0.26 + 0.08) and in Winter (0.1 + 0.08).
(6)Cumulative food conversion were 2.49 , 2.74 , 2.4 and 2.39 in Spring , Summer , Autumn and Winter respectively.
(7)Cumulative food efficiency were 0.4 , 0.36 , 0.4 and 0.42 in Spring , Summer , Autumn and Winter respectively. •
(8)Total mortality percent were 3.3:2 , 3.93 2.29 and 8.79 in Spring , Summer , Auturrmand Winter respectively .
(9)Total Behavioral disorder percent were (1.56) in Spring , (1.76.) in Summer , (1.56) in Autumn and (0.6) in Winter.
II - Exoerimentation of broiler houses showed that
(1)At the 7th week of age , average body weight were 1610 , 1567 and 1547 gm when light intensity were 107.6 , 64.56 and 43 lux respectively.
(2)Body weight gain , relative growth rate , food conversion and food efficiency were variable under different light intensities.
(3)Average mortality percent were (0.68 + 0.1) in 107.6 lux , (0.64 + 0.31) in 64.56 and (0.56 + 0.18) in 43 lux , while the average behavioral disorder percent were (0.37 + 0.18) in
107.6 lux and not observed in 64.56 and 43 lux.
(4)Cumulative food conversion were 2.62 , 2.82 and 2.84 in 107.6 , 64.56 and 43 lux respectively.
(5)Cumulative food efficiency were 0.38 , 0.35 and 0.35 in 107.6 , 64.56 and 43 lux respectively/
(6)Total mortality rate were 4.76 (107.6 lux) , 4.48 (64.56 lux ) and 3.94 (43 lux).
(7)Total behavioral disorder were 2.6 in 107.6 lux and 0.004 in 43 lux.
(8)At the 7th week , average body weight were 1576.5 , 1566 and 1510 gm in 21hrs. light : 3hrs. dark , 3hrs. light : lhr. dark and continuous light respectively.
(9)Body weight gain , relative growth rate , food conversion , and food efficiency were variable in different light durations.
(10)Average mortality rate were (1.55 + 0.44) in 3hrs.light: lhr. dark , f(0.98 ± 0.16)) in continuous light and (0.66 + 0.12) in 21 hrs. : 3hrs. dark , while behavioral disorder not observed.
(11)Cumulative food conversion were 2.82, 3 and 3.04 in 21 hrs. light : 3 hrs . dark , continuous light and 3hrs. light : 1 hr. dark .
(12)Cumulative food efficiency were 0.35, 0.33and 0.32 in 21hrs. light : 3hrs. dark, continuous light and 3 hrs. light : 1hr. dark respectively.
(13)Total mortality rate were in 3hrs. light : lhr. dark (10.88), continuous light (6.5) and 21 hrs. light dark (4.6)
(14)By using of continuous light and temperature (34°C decreased 2°C weekly, resulted in average body weight of 1380 gm at the 7th week, where body weight gain, relative growth rate, food conversion and food efficiency were variable in the different weeks. Average mortality rate was (1.38±0.29), average behavioral disorder was (0.02±0.01), cumulative food conversion was (2.9), cumulative food efficiency was (0.34), total mortality rate was (9.68) and total behavioral disorder
was (0.12).
(15)By using 22hrs. light : 2hrs. dark and temperature 33°C decreased 3°C weekly, resulted in average body weight of 1460 gm. at the 7th week, where body weight gain, relative growth rate, food conversion and food efficiency were variable in the different weeks. Average mortality rate was(1.09±0.3)average behavioral disorder was(0.32±0.19), cumulative.
