Abstract The firing of liquid fuel gives a good heat transfer to the combustor walls while gives high pollution emissions. Inserting small percentages of light gaseous fuel like natural gas to the burner probably enhance the combustion and decrease the pollution emissions. Relying on only one fuel for the operation of thermal power plants could pose problems in the times of fuel market instabilities. To decrease an exposure on fuel supply uncertainties and price oscillations, i. e., to ensure continuous and most economic power production, it is desirable to have more options. |
