Abstract Summary Adansonia; A small genus of trees and shrubs, belongs to family Bombacaceae, comprising about 10 species of which some are indigenous to tropical Africa, Madagascar and Australia. It includes the wild-known African “Baobab” (Adansonia digitata L.) Adansonia digitata L.( Baobab) is one of the most important food plants, providing fruits, berries, nuts, seeds and leaves present in Ferlo. In addition, it has an exceedingly wide range of medicinal and traditional uses with numerous applications, including treatment of symptoms of infectious diseases. Conflicting reports were traced for South African plants but nothing was reported for the plant cultivated in Egypt. Our aim of work includes Phytochemical, biological and biotechnological studies as follows: Part I: Phytochemical study Part II: Biological studies of Adansonia digitata L. Leaves and fruit pulp Part III:Biotechnological studies. |
