Abstract

Premier Platinum HpSA immunocard test is a microplate enzyme-immunoassay for the qualitative detection of H pylori antigens in human stool, and was approved by FDA to be used in clinic in 1998. The HpSA test is a cheap, non invasive, rapid and useful method for the diagnosis of H pylori infection before and after eradication therapy and can replace endoscopy in predicting infection and follow up. The HpSA test has been widely evaluated around the world, with a weighted mean sensitivity and specificity of 90-98%.
The present study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of HpSA immunocard test in h pylori diagnosis with histopathology as gold standard.
The study was conducted on 80 adult patients male or female, ranged from 18 to 70 years old with a mean of 39 ±12, suffering from dyspepsia. They underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and were diagnosed to have gastric H.pylori infection by Haematoxylin and eosin stained films of gastric biopsies. Fifty two patients were positive for H.pylori infection (65%) and twenty eight were negative according to Immunocard test.
Stool antigen test was found to have 87%sensitivity, 80.7%, specificity, 90.3%, positive predictive value, 75% negative predictive value and 85% accuracy.
So Immunocard test is considerd better positive than negative test.
