Abstract Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) are a kind of immune disease of the gastrointestinal tract represented mostly in two famous forms; Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The problems faced with the disease are these; the recurring or a chronic course of the disease that may end up with cancer colon, the cause of IBDs is still unknown and finally that the diseases are incurable as they need surgical interference or coasty drugs with aggressive side effects. The rising prevalence of IBDs and immune disorders is mainly observed in countries with low prevalence of parasitic infections. According to the hygiene hypothesis; lack of exposure to infectious agents during childhood makes the immune system in no challenge to develop a well established regulatory network or defense mechanisms. Hence, it may start to attack the body’s own tissues and self antigens or enter the dilemma of hyperinflammation. |
