Abstract The present study is quasi experimental study aiming to examine the impact of pregnancy induced hypertension nursing educational program for maternity nursing on their knowledge and performance and explore the maternal and neonatal complications among pregnancy induced hypertension mothers before and after applying the program. The study sample consisted of two main group nurses and pregnant women 1-(30) nurses working in obstetric and gynecological departments in Port Said Hospitals and 2- (40) Pregnant women with PIH. The results revealed that there was a significant improvement in the nurses’ knowledge score about definition, Incidence, types, signs & symptoms, high risk group, complications, investigations, and management of pregnancy induced hypertension; meanwhile, the scores in the follow up (after 3 months) tend to decline. Moreover, there was an improvement in observational skills about nursing care of pregnancy induced hypertension. The study results also reveled that, there was a statistical significant nurses knowledge about pregnancy induced hypertension and their age and years of experience. The study results also reveled that , there was a statistical significant maternal and neonatal received the nursing care before and after applying nurses’ educational program. |
