Abstract
Out of 300 samples of imported one day old ducklings sources the incidence of salmonella was 36% .
Salmonella was isolated from internal organ with paper lining boxes of ducklings and found that that high percentage of isolation from pooled liver and gallbladder 20% then yolk sac with 15% followed by cecum 10% while salmonella isolated from paper lining box is with low percentage when compared with that from internal organ.
By test pathogenicity of isolates we found the lethality of embryos through their 19 day of inoculation of the tested serovars was 100% highly pathogenic for embryo lethality assay. The findings from the present study showed that the invA gene was expressed in all the Salmonella serotypes by PCR and the virulotyping analysis for 7 virulence genes (avrA, bcfC, mgtC, ssaQ, sopB and siiD) by conventional PCR which showed that the dominant gene was ssaQ (69.2%) of the examined serovars followed by avrA (61.5%)then sopB (15.4%) while the mgtC, siiD and bcfC gene were absent .
