Abstract
The healthy palatine tonsils, situated on each side of the oropharynx, carry out certain functions resulting in the elaboration of antibodies and acts as a filter at the begining of both respiratory and digestive systems structures and functions predispose them to harbour micro-organisms of which streptococci are the most commonest.
