Abstract Subgroup (1): Including 20 sheep suffered from diarrhea due to bacterial agents and treated by freshly minced nutmeg and oral fluid therapy Subgroup (2): Including 20 sheep suffered from diarrhea due to bacterial agents and treated by Oxytetracycline tablet and oral fluid therapy All samples were taken from control healthy sheep and from sheep suffered from diarrhea before and fifth days post treatment. 1-Haematological picture: There was a highly significant increase in PCV%, RBCs, significant increase in Hb, WBCs, granulocyte, lymphocyte and monocyte of sheep suffering from diarrhea. Hematological picture of diarrheic sheep was improved and slightly returned to the normal after treatment by nutmeg and oxy-tablet. 2-Biochemical data revealed that: A- Serum glucose, total protein, albumin, globulin and A/G ratio: There was a significant decrease in serum glucose level and in level of total serum protein in diarrheic sheep while there was non significant decrease in levels of albumin, globulin and A/G ratio in diarrheic sheep. B- Serum electrolytes ”Na, Cl , K and Ca”: There was a significant decrease in serum Na, Cl and Ca in sheep suffering from diarrhea, while there was a significant increase in serum K in diarrheic sheep. C-Serum urea nitrogen, Creatinine, AST and ALT activities: There was a significant increase in serum level of creatinine, AST and ALT activities in diarrheic sheep while there was a highly significant increase in serum level of urea nitrogen in diarrheic sheep. |
