Abstract
Sickle cell disease is a hereditary hemoglobinopathy characterized by abnormal hemoglobin production, hemolytic anemia, and intermittent occlusion of small vessels, leading to acute and chronic tissue ischemiam chronic organ damage, and organ dysfunction.
