Abstract

HCC is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. It is the sixth most common cancer worldwide with about500.000 new cases annually, representing the third leading cause of cancer-related daeth worldwide resulting in between250.000 to one million deaths per annum.HCC is four to nine times more common in men than in women occurring most commonly in Africa and Asia.
Numerous causative factors have been contributed to the development of HCC in humans, including biological, physical or chemical.Liver is sensitive to chemical carcinogens such as DAB and also PB. DAB produces liver damage followed by regeneration of parenchymal cells and tumors develop from parenchyma that end up with neoplastic transformation, while PB enhances hepatocytes growth and suppresses apoptotic rate.
