Abstract Malunion is the most common complication of distal radius fractures; significant malunion can cause considerable disability. This retrospective study to evaluate effect of patients treated by open wedge osteotomy, corticocancellous bone graft (obtained from iliac crest) with internal fixation by standard T plate or angled T plate either dorsally or pa1merl through volar or dorsal approaches to the distal end radius to compare early &late reconstruction. Fernandez point scoring system was used in assessment(1). Postoperative assessment The final evaluation for each, after a mean postosteotomy followup period (range 6-12) months. Was based on subjective, objective and radiological criteria. Result Overall result. The mean overall functional score (Fernandez point score system) Was 15(range, 14-19) points: -Very good results were achieved in 5cases (25%). - Good in 12 cases (45%). - Fair in 6 cases (30%). |
