Abstract Acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) is a clonal disorder characterized by acquisition of somatic mutations in haematopoietic progenitors cells. Defects in DNA repair genes and proteins associated with the regulation of repair are connected to many different human diseases including acute myeloid leukemia.
