Abstract Pregnancy and childbirth are often considered as a natural process. Thus signs and symptoms of complications are seldom recognized as reasons for concern. Essentially, all women in developing countries are at risk of obstetric complications. These complications are virtually inconceivable to anticipate and hard to forestall. Medical and nursing management for women with obstetric complications begins with the recognition of danger signs. Therefore, comprehensive knowledge about danger signs of obstetric complications among pregnant women is a critical determinant of timely decision-making to seek essential obstetric care. Although women’s knowledge about obstetric danger signs has substantial importance for improving maternal and child health, little is known about these obstetric danger signs. Therefore this study aimed at assessing knowledge and practices of pregnant women regarding danger signs of obstetric complications. |
