Abstract
The Study was done to observe the toxic effects of the extract obtained from the leaves of Neriurn oleander plant -which is widely cultivated everywhere in Egypt (schools, chldren public gardens, private gardens and even the streets)- on liver functions and some blood clotting.The liver function tests included in this study are, determination of total plasma proteins, serum albumin with concomitant determination of the albumin/globulin -A/G- ratio, total serum bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, and serum aminotransferases (aspartate aminotransferase -AST and alanine aminotransferase - ALT).The blood coagulation tests done in ~s study were, total coagulation time and one stage prothrombin time with subsequent determination of prothrombin activity.
