It is the second most common abundant trace element in the human body and , in , such a member of one of the major subgroups of the micronutrients that have been attained such promince in human nutrition and health. Zinc makes up a part of more than 300 enzymes in the body. Important zinc containing metalloenzymes in human include carbonic anhydrase, ribonucleic acid (RNA) and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) polymerase, thymidine kinase, carboxypeptides . Zinc is the only metal encountered in each class,i.e. oxidoreductases, transferases, hydrolases, lyases, isomerases and ligases. Its physical and chemical properties make |
