Abstract A study was conducted to recover the waste gases exhaust from a thermal oxidizer package in a petrochemical plant. An air preheater was designed to preheat the combustion air required in the heater up to 300°C to increase the combustion efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Preheating the combustion air provides many benefits, such as, enhance efficiency and flame stability, and reduce pollutant’s emission and save energy. Calculated results showed that the high temperature air ombustion technology provides significant energy savings and reduction in fuel consumption in the heater furnace from 6 - 10 . In this study we will introduce a proposal for the air preheater design and validate this design with HTRI software. |
