Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of an e-Learning training program in test-taking strategies on nonspecialist students’ achievement on English Language tests and reducing their test anxiety. Sixty first year non-specialist students from Hurghada Faculty of Education were randomly assigned to two groups: a control group and an experimental one. Subjects of the experimental group were trained in test-taking strategies, whereas, subjects of the control group received on such training. Tools of the study included an e-learning training program in test-taking strategies, an achievement English Language test and Sarson’s anxiety scale. Results revealed that subjects of the experimental group surpassed those of the control group in the achievement test and in Sarson’s test anxiety scale as well. It was recommended that subjects should be trained in different types of test-taking strategies that may help them improving their test scores. |
