Abstract Statility of performance is one of the mast :iesiratle properties of a genotype to be release as a new ~ariety for wide cultivations. Soybean genotypes, as the other field crops, have been shown to ~ar~ in stabilitv of performance. Therefore, soybean breeders nave attempted to select genotypes that perform well over a wide range of climatic and edaphic conditions. A number of statistical methods are now known for estimati~n cf pheno~~pic statilit~. F::; -:f.lS purpose, unilocational and multilocational trials cc·er a number of years are commenly used.
