Abstract In Egypt there is a severe competition between animal and human for nutrition, attributed to the over population and the shortage of the feedstuffs, this problem draws attension to looking for an alternative which saves most, if not all the maize for huTian consumption. Nowadays, tapioca which is a shrubby plant, can be cultivated in all soils, propagated from cuttings and can be used as pellets, is found to be a good substitute for feeding animals without any adverse effect. In this study we ai~ed at proving this target, we did two experiments at the Experimental Agriculture Station in Kalubia by using tapioca pellets. The first experiment: Digestion trial for detection the nutritive value of tapioca. The second experiment: Feeding trial on a group of a lactating goats using tapioca pellets as a substitute in a ratio of 50%, 75% maize used as ration and its effect on their production. from milk Finally we proved that there is increase in nitrogen free extract in tapioca and the use of tapioca causes no adverse effect on the milk production. |
