Abstract

psychological factors to the aetiology of presur.Jed
psychosomatic disorders (Jacobs eta!, 1967).
Some of tl1e behavioral effects of physical illness on
the child and his family have been described for children
with various specific disorders (Tietz and Vidmar, 1972) and for
chronic illness as a group (Pless and Roghmann, 1971).
These studies demonstrated that children with these
conditions have more frequent psychological disturbances
than heulthy children of similar backgrounds.
