Abstract Frequency of cholelithiasis in chronic liver disease patients was 50.4% in our study .It was 54.1% in decompensated CLD patients’ versus30.4%in compensated CLD patients, so we conclude that cholelithiasis is associated with chronic liver disease and its frequency increases with severity of chronic liver disease. Also contraceptive pills intake and diabetes mellitus were observed an additional risk factors for cholelithasis. Further studies on impaired gallbladder motility and its relation to cholelithiasis in chronic liver disease patients are recommended Further studies concerned with contraceptive pills type, dosage and duration are recommended. Glycemic control in diabetic patients is essential to decrease risk of cholelithiasis. Control body weight is very important because obesity is important risk factor to cholelithiasis. |
