Abstract
In the present study, some local bacterial isolates were tested
for their ability to grow and degrade particular aromatic com-
pounds to select the most potent organism degrading phenol in order to use it for the biological treatment of phenolic wastes.
The application of different immobilization methods (entrapmentor adsorption) and the ability of immobilized cells to degradphenol were also investigated. Cultivation of the biocatalysin air lift and Fixed bed bioreactors was studied.
