Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to prepare Eco –friendly flame retardant fabrics via modification cotton fabric by introducing ammonium poly phosphate group and nano zinc oxide layer on carboxymethylated cotton fibers. In this research different parameters such as effect of concentrations of chemicals used and other reaction conditions such as temperature and time were studied.
The treated cotton fabrics were assessed by determination of nitrogen and phosphorous content besides Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), limiting oxygen index (LOI), char length, char residue, Thermo gravimetric Analyzes (TGA), whiteness index, Tensile strength (T.S) and Elongation, TEM, SEM, XRD &UV-Visible.
