Abstract

The present work aims at detection of C .parvum oocysts in stool of infected patients by ELISA.
The present work was carried out on 420 cases (230 males and 190 females) chosen from health care units, primary school and nursery care of two villages (Farsees and Al-Sotohya) and Pediatrics outpatient Clinics of Zagazig University Hospitals, who were complaining mainly of diarrhea. Their ages ranged from 6 month to 10 years. Sixty one out of 420 cases were immunocompromised complaining of renal failure, leukemia and malnutrition collected from Pediatrics inpatient wards of Zagazig University Hospitals.
These cases were collected within six months from June 2012 to December 2012 by daily collection from the above mentioned sites.
from all examined individuals full history was taken in the form of questionnaire by asking about complaint, history of present illness, history of past illness, ORS and treatment of present illness.
from all individuals (420) of the present study, the stool samples were obtained and ex-amined by naked eye for consistency, odour , colour , presence of blood and mucous .
Stool samples were examined by ELISA for detection of C.parvum oocysts in stool of heavily infected patients by preparation of crude antigen by sonication and repeated freezing and thawing of the oocysts for performance of ELISA.
