Abstract
is the group of the zooplankton commu- nity, that comp~ises the meroplanktonic stages of marine fishes collected by Plankton gear (Ahlstrom and Mose stage, the yolk-sac larvae which arethetransition from t he hatched embryo to the larval stage, the larvae i.e. the stage prior to acquiring the juvenile characters; and the j u v e nil e s ta get hat ha s a.ll fin e I e me n t s ~ pr e se n t ( A h Ls t r om & Richards, 1975) .. All these developmental stages are mero- planktonic, Le. they spend a part of their life history in the planktonic phase, but the adult belongs to the nekton.
