Abstract This study poses problem of removing pollutants from sediments that can lead to the long-term of pollution. The objective of this study is introducing a unique class of soil remediation processes by attractive nano-based technologies treatment train. This study includes risk assessment/toxicity, explore the ecological and ecotoxicological assessments, characterization and stability, toxicity, fate and transport of mixed contaminants in terrestrial ecosystems at Oil Refinery Company Northwest Suez Gulf. As risk assessment is a technique of strategy analysis, randomly collected soil samples subjected to soxhlet extraction to detected total petroleum hydrocarbons, gas chromatographic to determine the percentage of paraffines, high performance liquid chromatography to examined total concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, Flame atomic absorption spectrometer used to determine Pb and Fe concentrations. In this study, nanoemulsion composed of tertiary system of sunflower oil/water/non-ionic surfactant, was produced by high-energy method. This nanoemulsion was used in cleaning of contaminated sediments by mixed contaminants. |
