Abstract
This thesis comprises three chapters. The first one deals
with a general review on the che~istry of organo platinum
co~pounds. The aim of investigation and the plan of the work
are also included in this chapter the second chapter deals with a general discussion on the obtained exper~aental results. The different reactions studied in the present work can be swnmerized as follows: - (i) The reactivity of cis-dimethyl( 1 ,5-cyclooctadiene) platinum(II) Pt(COD)Me2 towards group(IV) element azides have been studied. Three platinum (II) azides of the types Pt (COD)[’leN3 ’ (Pt(COD)C1N3] and [Pt(COD)(N3)2’) have been isolated and characterized. The X-ray structure of both Pt (COD) MeN3 and Pt (COD)(N3)2 are given.
