Abstract
A convenient wa~’ of studying the resultant lateral forces
set up by a tyre running at a slip angle is by running a tyre
on a rotating flywheel at an approperiate range of operating
parameters. Specially designed apparatus is used to study
tyre-to-ground contact forces, where the tested tyre is turned
through different slip angles.
