Abstract The main aim of the present thesis is focused on the syntheses and characterization using elemental analyses, thermal (TG and DTG), spectral (IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR and 13C NMR, mass), conductivities and magnetic measurements. The new isolated complexes derived from the ligands under investigation, [2-(pyridin-1-ium-1-yl) acetate (PYA), 8-hydroxyquinolium chloroacetate (HQCA), (E,E)-N,N’’-(6-aminopyrimidine-2,4-diyl)bis(N’-phenylcarbamimidothioic acid) (APCA), (Z)-3-amino-N-(3-aminopyrazine-2-carbonyl)pyrazine-2-carbohydrazonic acid (APA) and 1-(3-(2-(3-aminopyrazine-2-carbonyl)hydrazine-1-carbonyl)pyrazin-2-yl)-3-phenylthiourea (AHPP)], with Cu2+, Co2+, Pt4+, Pd2+, Au3+, Ag+ and Nd3+ ions were synthesized and characterized.. • Detailed thermal analysis for the prepared complexes was performed in the temperature range 30-700 or 800˚C. • The geometries are suggested for the prepared complexes based on the data evaluated from spectral and magnetic measurements. • The optical band gap (Eg) of some complexes were calculated from absorption spectra. Also some other theoretical studies using DFT method were performed. • Discussion the antioxidant activity and the cytotoxic and antitumor activity for all ligands and their metal complexes. |
