Abstract This study is conducted to investigate the survival and tolerance of various algal isolates with different concentrations of pesticides, as well as evaluating their efficiency for removing and recovering pesticides from contaminated wastewater. To achieve these targets the following steps were adopted: 1- Isolation, purification and identification of dominant bleu green and green algae from different water samples in El Fayoum Governerate. 2- Study the survival of diffrtent algal strains with different concentrations of pesticides such as malathion by monitoring algal growth criteria. 3- Investigate the tolerance of microalgae to malathion pesticide by estimation of growth using cell count, determination of photosynthetic pigments, estimation of carbohydrates and estimation of protein content. 4- characterization of tolerant algal strains using molecular marker, such as protein electrophoresis and RNA content. 5- Application of different algal strains for biodegradation of malathion pesticide. |
